1. The AK5 data segment is created automatically in the Functional Acknowledgment (997) transaction set when the functional acknowledgment feature is enabled.  This data segment primarily
   •  reports any syntactical errors found (in the Transaction Set Syntax Error Code (718) data element), and
   •  indicates the action taken by the receiver (in the Transaction Set Acknowledgment Code (717)).
