Technical Notes

  1. The 0001 data element in S001 defaults to value "UNOA" when the interchange is created in FREDI.
  2. FREDI defaults the value in 0001 in S001 in the CONTRL message, that is created as an acknowledgment for the subject interchange, to the same value as the 0001 in S001 in the interchange of the subject interchange.

Coded identification of the agency controlling the syntax, and of the character repertoire used in an interchange.

The data value consists of the letters ’UN’, upper case, identifying the syntax controlling agency, directly followed by an a2 code identifying the character repertoire used.
