ediSyntaxLevels

The ediSyntaxLevels maintains a collection of syntax levels.  Each syntax level maintain a set of character repertoires, terminators, separators and release indicator for a specific type of document.  Syntax levels are part of the UN/EDIFACT standard, but Framework EDI accommodates the ASC/X12 with this capability.  For ASC/X12, characters beyond the basic set - the extended characters - can be defined between trading partners by using a special syntax level that must be added using the identifier “ASC X12”.

Methods

• AddDefaultSyntaxLevelA – Adds a syntax level containing all the default values for Syntax Level A as defined in the standard.
• AddDefaultSyntaxLevelB – Adds a syntax level containing all the default values for Syntax Level B as defined in the standard.
• AddSyntaxLevel – Adds a new syntax level.
• GetSyntaxLevelByID – Gets the syntax level having a specified identifier.
• GetSyntaxLevelByIndex – Gets the syntax level using its expected relative position within the collection.
• RemoveSyntaxLevel – Removes the syntax level having the specified identifier.

Properties

• Count - Gets the quantity of syntax levels already in the collection.
