ediTransactionSet. Save

Saves the UN/EDIFACT Message or ASC/X12 Transaction Set to an external file.

Syntax:

• <lretval> = object.Save(<sExternalFile>, [<Output type>])

Parameters:

• sExternalFile – File name and path of the external file of where to save the Message/Transaction Set. If the file already exists, it will be overwritten. If the file does not exist, a new file with the name will be created at the path specified. If the external file name is not specified then the document will be saved to the same file that was loaded.
• Output Type – Optional.  Specifies the output type.  The output types available are in Output Type ID Constants.

Returns

Returns 1 if the operation is successful; otherwise the operation returns zero.

Remarks

The data saved to the file begins with the Interchange Control Header and ends with the Interchange Control Trailer of the Message/Transaction Set.
