Data Segment Type Constants

Data Segment Type Constants indicate special data segments that are used when processing a document.  It is important that the data segment is known and the segment ID properly defined in the schema so that the data in the document can be properly extracted from the document and identified. 

• DataSegment_X12_InterconnectMailbag_Control_Header (1) – Interconnect Mailbag Header (default ID: IH).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When translating, this indicates the start of interconnect mailbag semantic level in the document.
• When generating, this indicates what definition in the schema to build the data segment structure of the interconnect mailbag control header.
• DataSegment_X12_InterconnectAck_Control_Header (2) – Interconnect Mailbag Acknowledgment (default ID: IA).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When translating, this indicates the start of interconnect mailbag acknowledgment in the document.
• DataSegment_X12_InterconnectMailbag_Control_Trailer (3) – Interconnect Mailbag Trailer (default ID: IT).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When translating, this indicates the end of the interconnect mailbag semantic level in the document.
• DataSegment_X12_Interchange_Control_Header (4) – Interchange Control Header (default ID: ISA).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When generating acknowledgments, this indicates in the interchange control header definition in the schema to build interchange control header data segment of new interchanges in the acknowledgment documents.
• When generating new documents, this indicates in the interchange control header definition in the schema to build interchange control header data segment of new interchanges in documents.
• When translating,
• Indicates the start of interchange semantic level.
• Indicates the start of the interchange data segment.
• During auto detecting the delimiters, the interchange control header ID is used in determining the data element and data segment terminator.
• DataSegment_X12_Interchange_Control_Trailer (5) – Interchange Control Trailer (default ID: IEA).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When generating new documents, this indicates in the interchange control trailer definition in the schema to build interchange control trailer data segment of new interchanges in documents.
• When translating, indicates the end of interchange semantic level.
• DataSegment_X12_Interchange_Acknowledgment (6) – Interchange Acknowledgment (default ID: TA1).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When generating interchange acknowledgments, this indicates in the interchange acknowledgment definition in the schema to build interchange acknowledgment data segment of new interchange acknowledgments in documents.
• When translating,
• Indicates the start of interchange acknowledgment data segment.
• During auto detecting the delimiters, ID is used in determining the data segment terminator.
• DataSegment_X12_Interchange_Delivery_Notice (7) – Interchange Delivery Notice Segment (default ID: TA3).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When generating new documents, this indicates definition in the schema to build interchange delivery notice data segment in documents.
• When translating,
• Indicates the start of interchange delivery notice data segment.
• During auto detecting the delimiters, ID is used in determining the data segment terminator.
• DataSegment_X12_Interchange_Grade_Of_Service (8) – Grade Of Service Request (default ID: ISB).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When generating new documents, this indicates definition in the schema to build grade of service request data segment in documents.
• When translating,
• Indicates the start of grade of service request data segment.
• During auto detecting the delimiters, ID is used in determining the data segment terminator.
• DataSegment_X12_Interchange_Deferred_Delivery_Req (9) – Deferred Delivery Request (default ID: ISE).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When generating new documents, this indicates definition in the schema to build deferred delivery request data segment in document.
• When translating,
• Indicates the start of grade of deferred delivery request data segment.
• During auto detecting the delimiters, ID is used in determining the data segment terminator.
• DataSegment_X12_Group_Security_Header_S1S (10) – Security Header Level 1 (default ID: S1S).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• Security header level 1 used prior to version X12/4010.
• When securing documents, this indicates definition in the schema to build security header level 1 data segment in documents.
• When translating, this indicates the start of security header level 1 data segment.
• DataSegment_X12_Group_Security_Trailer_S1E (11) – Security Trailer Level 1 (default ID: S1E).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• Security trailer level 1 used prior to version X12/4010.
• When securing documents, this indicates definition in the schema to build security trailer level 1 data segment in documents.
• When translating, this indicates the start of security trailer level 1 data segment.
• DataSegment_X12_Group_Security_Header_S3S (12) – Security Header Level 1 (default ID:S3S).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When securing documents, this indicates definition in the schema to build security header level 1 data segment in documents.
• When translating, this indicates the start of security header level 1 data segment.
• DataSegment_X12_Group_Security_Trailer_S3E (13) – Security Trailer Level 1 (default ID: S3E).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When securing documents, this indicates definition in the schema to build security trailer level 1 data segment in documents.
• When translating, this indicates the start of security trailer level 1 data segment.
• DataSegment_X12_TransactionSet_Security_Header_S2S (14) - Security Header Level 2 (default ID: S2S).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• Security trailer level 1 used prior to version X12/4010.
• When securing documents, this indicates definition in the schema to build security header level 1 data segment in documents.
• When translating, this indicates the start of security header level 1 data segment.
• DataSegment_X12_TransactionSet_Security_Trailer_S2E (15) - Security Trailer Level 2 (default ID: S2E).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• Security trailer level 1 used prior to version X12/4010.
• When securing documents, this indicates definition in the schema to build security trailer level 1 data segment in documents.
• When translating, indicates the start of security trailer level 1 data segment.
• DataSegment_X12_TransactionSet_Security_Header_S4S (16) - Security Header Level 2 (default ID: S4S).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When securing documents, this indicates definition in the schema to build security header level 2 data segment in documents.
• When translating, indicates the start of security header level 2 data segment.
• DataSegment_X12_TransactionSet_Security_Trailer_S4E (17) - Security Trailer Level 2 (default ID: S4E).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When securing documents, this indicates definition in the schema to build security trailer level 2 data segment in documents.
• When translating, indicates the start of security trailer level 2 data segment.
• DataSegment_X12_Assurance_Security_Header_S3A (18) – Assurance Header Level 1 (default ID: S3A).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When securing documents, this indicates definition in the schema to build assurance header level 1 data segment in documents.
• When translating, indicates the start of assurance header level 1 data segment.
• DataSegment_X12_Assurance_Security_Header_S4A (19) – Assurance Header Level 2 (default ID: S4A).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When securing documents, this indicates definition in the schema to build assurance header level 2 data segment in documents.
• When translating, indicates the start of assurance header level 2 data segment.
• DataSegment_X12_Security_Value (20) – Security Value (default ID: SVA).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When securing documents, this indicates definition in the schema to build security value data segment in documents.
• When translating, indicates the start of security value data segment.
• DataSegment_X12_Group_Control_Header (21) – Functional Group Header (default ID: GS).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When generating acknowledgments, this indicates definition in the schema to build functional group header data segment of new functional groups in acknowledgment documents.
• When generating new documents, this indicates definition in the schema to build functional group header data segment of new functional groups in documents.
• When translating,
• Indicates the start of functional group semantic level.
• Indicates the start of the functional group header data segment.
• DataSegment_X12_Group_Control_Trailer (22) – Functional Group Trailer (default ID: GE).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When generating acknowledgments, this indicates definition in the schema to build functional group trailer data segment in acknowledgment documents.
• When generating new documents, this indicates definition in the schema to build functional group trailer data segment in documents.
• When translating,
• Indicates the end of functional group semantic level.
• Indicates the start of the functional group trailer data segment.
• DataSegment_X12_TransactionSet_Control_Header (23) – Transaction Set Header (default ID: ST).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When generating acknowledgments, this indicates definition in the schema to build transaction set header data segment in acknowledgment documents.
• When generating new documents, this indicates definition in the schema to build transaction set header data segment in documents.
• When translating,
• Indicates the start of transaction set semantic level.
• Indicates the start of the transaction set header data segment.
• DataSegment_X12_TransactionSet_Control_Trailer (24) – Transaction Set Trailer (default ID: SE).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When generating acknowledgments, this indicates definition in the schema to build transaction set trailer data segment in acknowledgment documents.
• When generating new documents, this indicates definition in the schema to build transaction set trailer data segment in documents.
• When translating,
• Indicates the end of transaction set semantic level.
• Indicates the start of the transaction set trailer data segment.
• DataSegment_X12_Binary_Data_Structure (25) – Binary Data Structure (default ID: BDS).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When translating, this indicates the beginning of the binary data structure data segment.
• DataSegment_X12_Binary_Data (26) – Binary Data (default ID: BIN).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When translating, this indicates the beginning of the binary data segment.
• DataSegment_X12_Ack_Group_Response_Header (27) – Functional Group Response Header (default ID: AK1).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When generating acknowledgments, this indicates definition in the schema to build the functional acknowledgment group response header.
• DataSegment_X12_Ack_TransactionSet_Response_Header (28) – Transaction Set Response Header (default ID: AK2).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When generating acknowledgments, this indicates definition in the schema to build the functional acknowledgment transaction set response header.
• DataSegment_X12_Ack_Data_Segment_Note (29) – Data Segment Note (default ID: AK3).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When generating acknowledgments, this indicates definition in the schema to build the functional acknowledgment data segment note.
• DataSegment_X12_Ack_Data_Element_Note (30) – Data Element Note (default ID: AK4).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.
• When generating acknowledgments, this indicates definition in the schema to build the functional acknowledgment data element note.
• DataSegment_X12_Ack_TransactionSet_Response_Trailer (31) – Transaction Set Response Trailer (default ID: AK5).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.

• DataSegment_X12_Ack_Group_Response_Trailer (32) – Functional Group Response Trailer (default ID: AK9).  Applicable to ASC/X12 only.

• DataSegment_UN_Interactive_Interchange_Control_Header (33) – Interactive Interchange Header (default ID: UIB).  Applicable to UN/EDIFACT only.

• DataSegment_UN_Service_String (38) – Service String Advice (default ID: UNA).  Applicable to UN/EDIFACT only.
• When generating, this indicates to build the service segment.
• When translating, this indicates the beginning of the service segment which provides the delimiters to use in the document.
• DataSegment_UN_Interchange_Control_Header (39) – Interchange Header (default ID: UNB).  Applicable to UN/EDIFACT only.
• When generating acknowledgments, this indicates in the interchange control header definition in the schema to build interchange control header data segment of new interchanges in acknowledgment documents.
• When generating new documents, this indicates in the interchange control header definition in the schema to build interchange control header data segment of new interchanges in documents.
• When translating,
• Indicates the start of interchange semantic level.
