Procedures for Translating a UN/EDIFACT Document

There are multiple ways to translate a UN/EDIFACT document using Framework EDI (FREDI), depending on how one prefers to read and extract data from the document.  The following example procedures describe some of the ways how one can translate a UN/EDIFACT Invoice message (INVOIC).

• Simple.  Traverses all the data segments in the file and extracts the data.
• Dynamic.  Dynamically retrieve a single value.
• Forward Only.  Traverses all the data segments in the file and extracts the data in forward only mode for better performance.
• No Schema.  Traverses all the data segments in the file and extracts the data without using a schema.
• Modify Data.  Loads the file and modify a single data element value.
