To remove an object variable that references a data element, take the
following steps:
Expand the data element node containing the object variable.
Highlight the object variable to remove, and then right click.
In the popup menu, select the option "Remove Object Variable".
The following steps demonstrates how to remove an object variable from a Data
Element reference. For example, the object variable with the name "TaxLocType"
will be removed from Data Element 309 (Location Qualifier) with ordinal 2 in
the Data Segment TAX (Tax Reference). The TAX segment, in turn has an ordinal number
6 in the ASC/X12 Transaction Set 850.
Expand the "Object Variables" branch under the Data Element
reference where the object variable is to be removed from. Then find
the object variable name in the list.
Highlight the object variable name, and then right click to display the
popup menu. In the example, the variable name "TaxLocType"
has been selected.
Select "Remove Object Variable" from the popup menu option to
delete the object variable.
A dialog-box will be displayed to confirm if the object variable should
really be removed. NOTE: Removing an object variable cannot be
undone once it has been successfully executed.
Click the button "Yes" to remove the Object Variable; otherwise click
on "No".
After successfully removing the object variable, the variable name will no
longer be displayed in the "Object Variables" list. In the
example, the variable name "TaxLocType" has been deleted and is no longer
in the list.
The Object Variable Table will also show that the variable name has been
removed from the table.
