Decrypting a File

To decrypt an encrypted file using the system store, take the following steps:

1. Select and highlight the system store to use for decryption.

   

2. Right click, and select Decrypt File from the popup menu.

   
   

3. The following dialog box is displayed:

   

   Fill in the information for the following entries in the dialog box:

   • Encrypted File.  Enter the full file path of the file to decrypt.  Click (..) to browse for the file.
   • Format.  Enter the encryption format of the encrypted file.  The following options are available:
     • Encrypted Key.  The encrypted file has a format that is created as follows:
       • A session key is generated and then encrypted using the certificate's public key. 
       • The encrypted key is pre-pended to the encrypted file.
     • EnvelopedData.  This format is based on the PKCS#7 EnvelopedData format.
   • Decrypt File.  Enter the full file path of the resulting decrypted file.  Click (..) to browse for the selected path and target file name.
     
4. Click OK to accept the entries and begin decrypting.
