Key Containers

Encrypting a File

To encrypt a file, take the following steps:

1. Select and highlight the key container.

   

2. Right click and scroll to Encrypt File in the popup menu.

   

3. The following dialog box is displayed:

   

   Fill in the information for the following entries in the dialog box:

   • Plain Text File.  Enter the full file path name of file to encrypt.  Click (..) to browse for the file.
   • Algorithm.  Select the algorithm used to encrypt.  Available algorithms depend on the service provider of the key container.
   • Key Type.  Select the public/private key pair of the key container.  The public key of the selected key pair is used to encrypt:
     • Key Exchange
     • Digital Signature
   • Encrypted File.  Enter the full file path name of the resulting encrypted file.

    

4. Click OK to accept the entries and encrypt the file.
