Cryptographic Service Providers (CSP) contain a
database of key containers. The key container can consist of at most two
public/private key pairs:
A Key Exchange pair.
A Digital Signature pair.
All existing public/private key pairs in the key
container can be exported to a file that can be later imported.
To export a key container:
Locate the key container to export.
Highlight and expand the CSP that contains the key container. If key
containers do exist in the CSP, the branch "Key Containers" is
displayed.
Highlight and expand the branch "Key
Containers" to list all the key containers in the CSP database.
In the list, highlight the name of the key
container to export, and then right
click to display a popup menu.
In the popup menu, scroll down and select Export Key Container.
The following dialog box is displayed:
Fill in the information for the following entries in the dialog box:
Name of Export File. Enter the full path and
name of the file where the exported key container will be saved to.
Password. Enter the password to
secure the keys when exported from the key container.
Confirm Password. Re-type to confirm
the password.
Hash Algorithm. Select the algorithm to hash
the password.
Encrypt Algorithm. Select the
algorithm to
encrypt the hashed password.
Click OK to accept the entries and export key the container.
