Cryptographic Service Providers (CSP) contain a
database of key containers. The key container can consist of at most two
public/private key pairs:
A Key Exchange pair.
A Digital Signature pair.
The public key of the public/private key pair can
be exported to a file, and it can be published or distributed to trading
partners.
To export a public key:
Locate the key container that contains the
public key to export.
Highlight and expand the CSP that contains the key container. If key
containers do exist in the CSP, the branch "Key Containers" is
displayed.
Highlight and expand the branch "Key
Containers" to list all the key containers in the CSP database.
In the list, highlight the name of the key
container that contains the public key to export, and then right
click to display a popup menu.
In the popup menu, scroll down and select Export Public Key.
The following dialog box is displayed:
Fill in the information for the following entries in the dialog box:
Name of Export File. Enter the full path and
name of the file where the exported public key will be saved to.
Public Key Type. Select the public
key to export from one of the two public/private key pair:
Key Exchange
Digital Signature
Click OK to accept the entries and export the public key.
